Community-Led Health for Every Kenyan
Citizen Health Initiative is a community-based organization working alongside people living with, or at risk of, HIV/TB and related conditions across Nyeri County and Kenya. Through community-led programmes we promote sustainable, dignified, universal health care.
At the heart of CHI lies a simple but powerful principle: the meaningful involvement of people who live with the conditions they’re fighting. We anchor every programme in the MIPA principle — drawing on lived experience to reduce stigma, sharpen interventions, and build healthier communities across Nyeri County and Kenya.
Programmes are designed and delivered by the communities they serve - drawing on lived experience to strengthen every response to HIV/TB and related conditions.
We lobby, advocate and partner so every person - regardless of HIV/TB status - accesses quality care, free from stigma and discrimination.
From HIV prevention and mental health to GBV response, SRH and climate resilience, CHI delivers community-led care across eight programme areas — anchored in dignity, respect, and equal rights for all.
